About Me

My name is Brenda and I have been a registered midwife for over 20 years. I trained in the UK gaining lots of invaluable experience with both hospital and homebirths. Having worked in Australia I returned to Ireland to work in the National Maternity hospital, Holles st, MRHP and later the Coombe hospital.
I offer a more integrated approach to pregnancy and birth, promoting wellness and wellbeing with supports of Hypnobirthing, Mindfulness, Hypnotherapy, Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, acupressure and reflexology so that you can feel great during your journey..
I understand how the Irish system works and have looked after 100's of couples since then navigating them confidently through the maternity services..
I presently work as a Self Employed Community midwife (SECM) for the HSE homebirth pathway.

I have always worked from the belief that for the most part
'Pregnancy is a life event and not a medical event' for healthy women and their babies. I believe in giving women a holistic approach to pregnancy and birth, based on their individual needs, releasing the constraints of overthinking and surrendering to the intuitive connnection between the mind and body and the natural rhythms of life.

I am a fully trained Mindfulness teacher, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Homeopath and Reflexologist,. These additional therapies support the emotional and spiritual sides of a pregnant woman which can often be neglected in pregnancy.
I have extensive experience in supporting Mothers resolve their birth traumas through using fear releasing and through use of the 'rewind technique'. I am a certified 'Rewind ' practitioner in resolving birth trauma.

Over the last 12 years  I have trained through various schools of Hypnobirthing but have now collated my own effective Hypnobirthing package in response to the needs of 100's of couples that I have met over the last 10 years.
I have experienced the challenges that couples have faced over the years and have created a modern antenatal education package that has proven itself to successfully work time and time again!
But don't take my word for it see my google business page for reviews! see here link pl

Since qualifying as a midwife I have always wanted to help make a difference in Maternity care so that Mothers are respected, enabled, and supported in the best way possible in the hospital or at home. Birth matters. Successful coping strategies are necessary.  Building self efficacy to unleash the potential within by embracing movements, sound and breath as gateways to a deeper connection with yur sacred womb.

I offer that crucial understanding of what is involved in the birthing process and will easily meet all your requirements for your birth. Research has shown that women who prepare mentally, physically and spiritually for birth have shorter labours,. less discomfort, fewer complications, and thus proceed to have a positive experience around this important 'rite of passage' into Motherhood.

So if you are not sure and want to chat about my services please phone me for a discovery call as I am always happy to chat.

Thank you, Brenda x
